where color becomes strength and beauty tells the truth.

Each painting begins in emotion and ends in light — bold, layered, alive.

ABOUT MILI MIZZI

Mili Mizzi is a Berlin-based contemporary painter working with mixed media and oils on canvas. Her practice centers on figurative portraiture interwoven with botanical and organic forms, addressing inner tension, boundaries, and states of emotional intensity.

Rather than constructing fixed narratives, the work holds moments of suspension — faces caught between presence and withdrawal, surfaces that remain unresolved. Figuration and abstraction intersect through layering, interruption, and revision, allowing ambiguity to function as an active element rather than an absence of meaning.

Materiality is central to her process. Mizzi works with acrylics, oils, inks, drawing materials, and metallic elements, building surfaces that retain visible traces of decision, resistance, and restraint. The paintings are shaped through accumulation and erasure, where control and intuition remain in constant negotiation.

She is currently developing Flourish, an ongoing body of work (2025– ), which forms the conceptual core of her practice. The series explores moments of quiet resolve and self-possession, examining how psychological intensity can exist without spectacle or resolution.
Mili Mizzi lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
