Description

In this 3.5-hour mixed-media workshop, you’ll create your own abstract artwork on a 25 × 25 cm canvas.
I’ll demonstrate each step and explain how I use these materials and techniques in my own paintings. You’ll then try them on your own canvas, choosing your own colours, marks and composition.

The workshop is suitable for beginners and no previous painting experience is needed.

During the workshop, you’ll learn how to:

  • create a textured surface using texture paste
  • work with acrylic inks and colour
  • combine inks with paint, markers and pastels
  • develop an abstract composition in layers
  • add final lines, marks and painted details

Everyone will work with the same materials and techniques, but every finished artwork will be different.

The paintings shown in the photographs are examples of the techniques and possible results. You won’t be expected to copy them.

You’ll be able to see some of my original paintings, works in progress and materials up close and ask me questions about my techniques and the way I work.
